Severe Thunderstorm Threat From the Central Plains to the Northeast; Extreme HeatRisk for the East Coast

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible from the central Plains to the Northeast through this evening. Widespread damaging winds are the primary threat but hail and a tornado or two is also possible. Overview

A strong cold front passed through the Lower Ohio Valley during the overnight hours from April 3-4. Ahead of this front, multiple rounds of severe storms developed. A couple of strong bow echoes resulted in swaths of wind damage, two tornadoes, and some large hail across south central Kentucky.
