Severe Thunderstorm Threat From the Central Plains to the Northeast; Extreme HeatRisk for the East Coast

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible from the central Plains to the Northeast through this evening. Widespread damaging winds are the primary threat but hail and a tornado or two is also possible. NWS Louisville staff were treated to presentations from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Ohio River Forecast Center on Wednesday, October 23rd. Michelle Thornton of the U.S. Coast Guard presented on operations on the Ohio River and how they pertain to OHRFC/NWS operations. Jim Noel of the Ohio River Forecast Center updated the staff on OHRFC operations.
