Severe Thunderstorm Threat From the Central Plains to the Northeast; Extreme HeatRisk for the East Coast

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible from the central Plains to the Northeast through this evening. Overview

On the evening of April 13, 2022, a line of severe storms spawned multiple tornadoes as it moved east across central Kentucky.  In addition to tornadoes, strong straight-line winds from thunderstorms also caused damage across central Kentucky. 

 

** Preliminarily 9 total tornadoes have been confirmed.**  

 

The southern Jefferson County EF-1 tornado was updated on April 27, 2022. Additional NWS storm surveys extended the path length to 7.2 miles.
