| The Meteorological 2024-2025 winter season (Dec-Feb) featured slightly below average temperatures and well below normal precipitation and snowfall. Interestingly, this winter ranks as the least snowiest in Chicago in 88 years, and the 10th least snowiest dating back to the late 1880s. While the lack of snowfall in Rockford did not quite crack the top 10 least snowiest winters, the 2.38" of measured precipitation tied as the 10th driest winter season in Rockford's recorded history. |

The mean average temperature for the month was 27.2 degrees, which is 1.6 degrees below normal. 0.52 inches of liquid precipitation were recorded, which is 1.45 inches below normal. 4.9 inches of snow were recorded, which is 5.8 inches below normal. No daily or top ten monthly records were set for Chicago during this past February. At Rockford, the average high temperature was 32.7 degrees, which is 0.7 degrees below normal. The average low temperature was 15.1 degrees, which is 2.7 degrees below normal.
