The weather pattern next week will favor high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s. Some central Alabama locations may approach 100 degrees, especially early to mid week. Heat index values are forecast to reach between 105-110. This will result in a major heat risk.
There is a risk for isolated flooding through Saturday AM, mainly across far northeastern portions of Central Alabama where a Flood Watch is in effect. Most likely rainfall amounts are around an inch, but isolated 2-4" amounts are possible which may lead to flooding of low-lying areas, rivers/creeks, and roads.
Numerous showers and a few thunderstorms, especially across the northeast portion of central Alabama. Highs from the mid 80s to low 90s before cooling rains.
