A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of Central Alabama through 9 PM tonight. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create heat index readings up to 108 degrees. Wear lightweight, light colored clothing. Stay hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the heat of the day.
There is a Level 1 of 5 (marginal) risk for severe thunderstorms across southern half of Alabama through 10 PM tonight. Isolated damaging winds up to 60 mph will be the main concern.
Partly cloudy with shower and storm chances greatest southeast. Highs in the mid to upper 90s. Heat indices above 105 degrees. West winds 5-10 mph.
For tonight, partly cloudy with scattered storms mainly before 10 PM across the central and southeast part of the area. Lows in the upper 60s to lower 70s.
