THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN GREENVILLE-SPARTANBURG SC HAS
CONFIRMED A TORNADO NEAR LAKE GLENVILLE IN JACKSON COUNTY NORTH
CAROLINA ON 03/02/2012.

A TORNADO TOUCHED DOWN FRIDAY EVENING IN SOUTHERN JACKSON COUNTY
ALONG THE NORTHWEST SIDE OF LAKE GLENVILLE. A DAMAGE PATH OF
UPROOTED AND SNAPPED PINES AND HARDWOODS WAS OBSERVED ALONG PINE
CREEK AND NORTH NORTON ROADS AND ALONG WOODS MOUNTAIN TRAIL.
SHINGLE DAMAGE TO A CHURCH AND A BARN WAS ALSO OBSERVED ALONG PINE
CREEK ROAD. THE TORNADO BRIEFLY LIFTED BEFORE TOUCHING DOWN AGAIN
ALONG GLENSHORE DRIVE...SNAPPING AND UPROOTING TREES AND CAUSING A
TREE TO FALL ON A HOUSE...DAMAGING THE ROOF. THE DAMAGE PATH ENDED
THERE...AT THE SHORE OF LAKE GLENVILLE.
