Overall, the month of January in Southwest Lower Michigan is expected to be warmer and wetter than normal. That is not to say we will not have periods of very cold temperatures, but that the warmer periods, when the entire month is averaged, will prevail. For the last 10 January’s, 5 were warmer than normal, 2 were colder than normal and 3 where near normal between 2011 and 2020.
