Additional strong to severe storms are expected to develop across much of North Texas and portions of Central Texas on Tuesday. The greatest severe weather risk will likely be on Wednesday as the dryline moves further east into the area. All hazards will be possible each day. Heavy rain may also result in minor flooding, especially on Wednesday. Continue to monitor the forecast for the latest information over the next few days.
Rest of today will feature mostly sunny skie with some clearing clouds. Most of Monday will be warm and dry, but late in the day scattered strong to severe storms are possible northwest of the Metroplex.
Our potential for flooding will be increasing starting late Monday into Wednesday, with the best rain chances across our northwest. These areas have already received ample rainfall so it will not take much extra rain to cause issues. Stay weather aware and be on the look out for any watches or warnings through the middle of the week.
As of now, we can confirm 12 tornadoes that occurred the evening and night of April 19th. These tornadoes were west of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, and extended from Erath County up into Montague County. Fortunately, no injuries or loss of life were reported due to these storms.
