Severe Thunderstorms, Arctic Blast Set to Arrive on Thanksgiving; Dangerous Wind Chills, Lake Effect Snow

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible across the Southeast. The first widespread freeze of the season will occur across most of North Texas and include portions of Central Texas Thursday night into Friday morning. Expect low temperatures ranging from the upper 20s to mid 30s Friday morning.
Tonight will be cool, but temperatures rebound quickly tomorrow. Highs will be in the 70s/80s, or about 15-20 degrees above normal. It will also be a little breezy with 10-15 mph winds and occasional gusts to 30 mph. Thankfully (pun intended), the heat will not last long. A strong cold front will move through late in the day!
Another cold front will bring cooler and breezy weather to the region for Thanksgiving Day. High temperatures are currently forecast to be in the 50s with partly to mostly cloudy skies before skies start to clear during the afternoon. Breezy conditions are expected with wind speeds around 10-15 mph gusting to around 20-25 mph.
