2019: Another Record Wet Year

Many locations in southeast South Dakota & southwest Minnesota set a new record for annual precipitation in 2019. Some of these locations broke their previous record by several inches. For a select few (Canton, Sioux Falls, and Worthington), the previous record was established just 1 year earlier, in 2018!

Of course, the heavy precipitation was not limited to SD & MN in 2019. Here's a look at some locations that received similar amounts in 2019, but still ended up shy of their previous record, some by several inches. ðŸ˜²

The record precipitation led to another year of significant flooding on many area rivers.
