Overview
A strong low pressure system brought blizzard conditions to portions of the region on Monday, January 22, 2018. Gusty northerly winds of 35-50 mph at times, combined with significant snowfall totals over a foot, were observed over portions of northeast Nebraska, far southeast South Dakota, northwest Iowa and southern Minnesota. |

The storm was slow to develop, but once it became organized Monday morning, heavy snow and strong winds resulted in widespread blizzard conditions and very dangerous to impossible travel conditions
