From Saturday June 12th through Tuesday June 15th, numerous weather disturbances ejected from a semi-permanent area of low pressure over the central Rockies, and interacted with a nearly stalled frontal boundary over the Central Plains and Lower Missouri River Valley. The atmosphere south of this boundary was typically unstable and very moist, with total atmospheric precipitable water well above average. These disturtubances led to several organized mesoscale convective systems (MCS), which moved through eastern Kansas and Missouri, and led to copious amounts of flooding rainfall.
