Rain chances return to the forecast this afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through the region. Chances for showers and storms will begin to increase during the afternoon hours, peaking during the evening and overnight hours. Rainfall amounts will generally be less than one inch so we do not expect any improvements to our ongoing drought conditions.
Drought is affecting all Alabama. While we do have low to medium rain chances this weekend, it will do little to alleviate the drought conditions.
Rain finally returns to the forecast today as a cold front moves into the area. Clouds and rain chances increase this afternoon and evening, especially across our northwestern areas. Highs today top out in the low to mid 80s.
Look for mostly cloudy skies tonight along with a breezy northerly wind. Rain chances remain elevated as the cold front passes through. Lows fall into the mid 40s to low 50s.
Rain chances will come to an end through the morning. We cool down nicely on Sunday with highs settling into the upper 60s to low 70s.
