Hurricane Isaias will make landfall along the Central Gulf Coast this evening and will impact Central Alabama with the potential for gusty to damaging winds and heavy rainfall which may cause localized flooding. A low risk for isolated tornadoes from tonight into Saturday across southern Central Alabama.

There is a Marginal Risk (level 1 of 5) for isolated tornadoes associated with the rainbands of Isaias. Ensure you have multiple reliable ways to get weather warnings and be prepared to seek shelter immediately if a tornado warning is issued for your area.

A Tropical Storm Warning remains in effect for most of Central Alabama. A High Wind Warning is effect for the northeastern portions of Central Alabama as Hurricane Isaias moves through the area tonight into Saturday.

A Flood Watch will be in effect for all of Central Alabama from 7 pm Friday evening through 7 am Sunday morning. 1.5-4 inches of rainfall is expected across the watch area with locally higher amounts up to 5 inches will be possible.

Widespread rain through the night. Lows from the upper 50s to lower 60s. East winds 10-20 mph, increasing in the south to 20-30 mph

Widespread rain remaining through much of the day, decrease in the south in the late afternoon. Highs in the 70s. Winds increasing to 30-40 mph, with gusts of 50 to 60+ mph.
