A Heat Advisory is in effect for much of Central Alabama through 9 PM Friday. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create heat index readings up to 108 degrees. Wear lightweight, light colored clothing. Stay hydrated and avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the heat of the day.
There is a Level 1 of 5 (marginal) risk for severe thunderstorms across southern Alabama this afternoon and evening. Isolated damaging winds up to 60 mph will be the main threat.
Partly cloudy with shower and storm chances greatest southeast. Highs in the mid to upper 90s. Heat indices above 105 degrees. West winds 5-10 mph.
Partly cloudy with isolated to scattered showers and storms through the evening hours in the southeast. Lows in the upper 60s northwest to lower 70s elsewhere. Light winds.
