Increasing heat and humidity will lead to dangerously high heat index values for Wednesday through the weekend.
A heat advisory is in effect across the north & west portions of Central Alabama for Wednesday afternoon. Highs will be in the lower to middle 90s with heat indices up to 105. Remember to stay hydrated, reduce time outdoors if possible, and wear light-weight, light colored clothing.
Isolated to scattered showers and storms across the eastern part of the area. A few storms may be strong to severe, with damaging winds the biggest threat. Highs will be in the lower to mid 90s.
For tonight, a few showers and storms may linger through midnight. Lows in the low to mid 70s with light or calm winds.
