On the evening of November 30th, a very unique severe weather episode occurred across parts of West Central Alabama. Four tornadoes occurred in Marengo and Hale Counties within a line of moderate showers. This convection did not contain any lightning or thunder. These showers were moving eastward around 50 miles an hour. The atmospheric environment was characterized by high wind shear...winds increasing and changing direction with increasing height. Several other counties reported wind damage..trees being blown down...which included Tuscaloosa, Bibb and Jefferson. Local research will be conducted in the near future on this peculiar weather event.
