There is a level 1 to 2 out of 5 risk for severe thunderstorms generally along and south of the U.S. 80/I-85 corridor today from 9 am to 2 pm. Threats include tornadoes and damaging wind gusts.
A Tornado Watch is in effect for our far southeastern counties until 6 PM.
Significantly colder air will surge into the region by Sunday night. A Cold Weather Advisory has been issued for Wind Chills between 0 and 10° from Sunday night into Monday morning and again from Monday night into Tuesday morning.
Widespread rain is expected, with a chance for severe thunderstorms across the south from late morning through the afternoon as a cold front sweeps through. Highs will range from the 40s northwest to low 70s southeast. Breezy southerly winds ahead of a cold front, with gusts up to 30–35 mph south of I-85.
Lingering showers early before below freezing temperatures overspread the area. Lows from 10°F to 25°F. Wind chill values from 0°F to 10°F with breezy northwest winds.
Clear and cold, with highs from the 20s northwest to low 40s southeast. Breezy northwest winds will keep wind chill values in the 15–35°F.
