Chicago and Rockford...
Chicago
At Chicago, the average high temperature was 63.8 degrees, which is
4.8 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 43.7
degrees, which is 4.9 degrees above normal. The average temperature
for the month was 53.7 degrees which is 4.8 degrees above normal.
During the month of April, 6.43 inches of precipitation were
recorded, which is 3.05 inches above normal. No snow was recorded,
which is 1.2 inches below normal.
There were no daily records set during the month of April 2017 for
Chicago.
Two Top Ten Monthly Records:
** 7th Warmest April on record since 1872 with 53.7 degrees.
** 9th Wettest April on record since 1871 with 6.43 inches.
Rockford
At Rockford, the average high temperature was 63.9 degrees, which is
3.2 degrees above normal. The average low temperature was 42.5
degrees, which is 4.4 degrees above normal. The average temperature
for the month was 53.2 degrees, which is 3.8 degrees above normal.
During the month of April, 7.13 inches of precipitation were
recorded, which is 3.78 inches above normal. A trace of snow was
recorded, which is 0.9 inch below normal.
There were no daily records set during the month of April 2017 for
Rockford.

** 5th Wettest April on record since 1905 with 7.13 inches.
** 12th Warmest April on record since 1905 with 53.2 degrees.
