The potential for heavy snow at higher elevations in the western U.S. will continue for many spots through the weekend. Severe thunderstorms developed across northeastern Wyoming and western South Dakota during the afternoon of Saturday, July 16. Strong winds knocked down trees, destroyed a shed, moved a car, tipped a travel trailer, and and caused damage to a home northeast of Newell. A tree also fell on a car in Rapid City.
