Severe Thunderstorms Expected Across the Central U.S.

Strong to severe thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, a few tornadoes and damaging winds are forecast to develop by mid-morning Wednesday and continue into the night from the middle Missouri Valley area southward to North Texas. Thunderstorms are expected to develop late Wednesday afternoon and early evening across eastern Oklahoma and continue into the late evening and overnight hours as they move east into western Arkansas. A slight risk for severe weather is in the forecast across most of the region, with large hail and damaging winds being the primary threats. A limited threat for tornadoes also exists, especially in parts of eastern Oklahoma.
A threat for severe weather will exist across all of eastern Oklahoma and northwest and west central Arkansas late Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday night. The most likely timing windows for different parts of the area are pictured.
