Back-to-Back Pacific Storms to Impact the West Coast; Heavy Snow in the Central Appalachians

Back-to-back powerful Pacific storm systems to impact the Pacific Northwest and northern California through the end of this week with heavy rain, flooding, strong winds, and higher elevation mountain snow. A vigorous area of low pressure pushed into the central plains Saturday afternoon May 29th. Severe thunderstorms quickly became tornadic well ahead of a dryline stretched across south central Nebraska and central Kansas.  WFO Topeka received numerous reports of severe weather, a summary can be found here.  The reports received here were just part of a very active severe weather outbreak. The Storm Prediction Center has an archive of this outbreak at:

Cloud, Republic, and Marshall were the hardest hit counties.  The storm survey conducted by WFO Topeka is at the bottom of this page.
