Strong to Severe Storms in the Ohio Valley and Mid-Atlantic; Snow in the Upper Great Lakes

Strong to severe thunderstorms will continue tonight across portions of the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic. Heavy rains may bring an isolated flash flooding threat over the central Appalachians, particularly in West Virginia. What is a "Water Year"?
This term is used to define the period beginning on October 1st of any given year through September 30th of the following year. Across the Florida peninsula this gives a good representation of the rainfall that has fallen during our dry season, which usually runs from about October through May. If rainfall amounts are rather low as we move into spring, then the Florida fire season, which typically runs from March until the beginning of the rainy season in late May or early June, can be influenced with fires able to spread faster and further.
