A weather system will pass by to our north Friday bringing with it gusty westerly winds for the mountain ridges, desert slopes and high desert. Widespread gusts up to 35 mph are anticipated for mountain ridges and desert slopes. Peak gusts of 35-40 mph, locally up to 50 mph are anticipated for the high desert.

Highs near seasonal normals. For the coastal areas: 60 to 65, western valleys and inland Orange County: 63 to 66, inland valleys: 61 to 66, mountains between 4000 ft and 7000 ft: 53 to 60, high desert: 62 to 67, low desert: 69 to 75.

An increase in temperatures to above average for this time of year. For the coastal areas: 62 to 68, western valleys and inland Orange County: 68 to 72, inland valleys: 68 to 74, mountains between 4000 ft and 7000 ft: 55 to 63, high desert: 63 to 67, low desert: 71 to 75.

Warmer temperatures for the high desert. Otherwise, similar temperatures. For the coastal areas: 61 to 67, western valleys and inland Orange County: 66 to 71, inland valleys: 68 to 73, mountains between 4000 ft and 7000 ft: 57 to 65, high desert: 70 to 73, low desert: 73 to 78.
