Widespread Rain from Texas to the Central Appalachians; Heavy to Excessive Rainfall in Southern California and the Southwest

Scattered thunderstorms and widespread showers are expected from the Texas coast to the central Appalachians today. Heavy to excessive rainfall will continue in southern California into the Desert Southwest through Saturday. Overview

Scattered thunderstorms produced locally strong to damaging winds across the Missouri Ozarks and southeastern Kansas Saturday, July 7.  Severe storms produced downburst winds up to 60 mph resulting in downed trees and powerlines in localized areas. There were also reports of trees on a few homes and barns that were damaged or destroyed.
