Summary:
A NWS storm survey indicated that an EF-0 tornado touched down 4 miles west of Butterfield on the afternoon of May 8th, 2014. This tornado produced considerable tree damage along a 2.25 mile long and 50 yard wide path. It touched down around 1:45 pm about 4 miles west of Butterfield and lifted at around 1:50 pm about 4.1 miles northwest of Butterfield. Numerous trees were uprooted and snapped. Winds were estimated at 85 mph.

Summary:
A NWS Survey Team determined that an EF-1 tornado touched down around 5:10 PM Thursday afternoon about 4 miles northwest of Ava MO. The tornado moved along a path...roughly paralleling Highway K...that was approximately 2.5 miles long and 100 yards wide snapping numerous trees, downing power lines, destroying a barn, and damaging a highway sign. The tornado lifted at around 5:15 PM about 5 miles north-northwest of Ava. Maximum winds were estimated to be 105 MPH.
