National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

Very heavy rainfall amounts were observed Saturday evening and early Sunday morning across portions of the Missouri Ozarks. While many areas received only light rainfall, some locations received several inches of rain in a very short amount of time. The hardest hit area stretched from Monett, northeast into eastern Lawrence County. In the image below, notice the radar estimated rainfall amounts exceeding ten inches over south-central Lawrence County. A 9.05" total was measured 3 miles northeast of Monett from one of our CWIP observers. Significant flash flooding took place over portions of Lawrence County, where there have been several reports of flood damage. Flooding was also reported across areas of southern Ozark County.
