An early March winter storm brought heavy snow to portions of the Missouri Ozarks. One strip of heavy snow fell from eastern McDonald and Barry Counties northeast through the Springfield area and then continued to the northeast into Miller County. Snowfall totals in this area ranged from 4" to 8". A second and larger area of heavy snow fell across portions of central and south central Missouri. Areas east of a Vienna in Maries County to Gainesville in Ozark County line also received about 4" to 8", with a few locally higher amounts.
