6 June 2020. 5:37 MST (6:37 MDT). La Plata County. A 65-year-old woman was killed and her friend was injured when struck by lightning while walking in the 200 block of Silver Queen South in the Edgemont subdivision. The lightning bolt first struck a tree and moved laterally to strike the woman.

17 July 2020. 14:45 MST (15:45 MDT). Gunnision County. Three individuals camping near Gunnison Colorado were affected by a lightning flash as a thunderstorms passed through.One 15 year old male was hospitalized.
