November of 2019 saw a few passing weather systems moving across the state through the fist half of the month, bringing periods of warm and cold temperatures along with some light precipitation across the area. For the last half of the month, several unseasonably strong and cold systems moved across Colorado, bringing abundant snowfall for many locales along with colder than normal temperatures through the end of the month.  For the month of November as a whole, at to below normal temperatures were experienced across the state, save for pockets of above normal temperatures across western Colorado and well below normal temperatures across portions of the southeast plains. Precipitation was quite varied through the month of November, with at to above normal precipitation recorded over portions of the southwest, central and eastern mountains, with below to well below normal precipitation experienced across western Colorado, as well as portions of the south central Colorado and the southeast plains.

The preliminary average temperature in Alamosa for the past month of November was 30 degrees, which is 0.5 degrees above normal.  Alamosa recorded 0.45 inches of precipitation through the month of November, which is 0.03 inches above normal. Alamosa recorded 3.9 inches of snow through the month of November, which is 0.2 inches above normal. 

 

The preliminary average temperature in Colorado Springs for the past month of November was 37.5 degrees, which is 0.6 degrees below normal. Colorado Springs recorded 0.90 inches of precipitation through the month of November. This is 0.50 inches above normal and makes November of 2019 the 15th wettest November on record in Colorado Springs. This, however, remains well below the wettest November on record, November of 1909, when 2.30 inches of precipitation was recorded. Colorado Springs recorded 8.3 inches of snow through November. This is 3.6 inches above normal and makes November of 2019, tied with November of 1985 and 1962, as the 15th snowiest November on record. This, however, remains well behind the snowiest November of 1991, when 26.3 inches of snow was recorded in Colorado Springs. 

 

The preliminary average temperature in Pueblo for the past month of November was 38.4 degrees, which is 0.9 degrees below normal.  Pueblo recorded 0.52 inches of precipitation through November, which is 0.05 inches above normal.  Pueblo recorded 5.0 inches of snow through the month of November, which is 0.6 inches above normal.  

 

Looking ahead into December in Alamosa, the average high and low temperature of 39 degrees and 5 degrees on December 1st, cool to 34 degrees and -2 degrees by the end of the month. The average temperature for the month of December in Alamosa is 17.9 degrees.  Alamosa averages 0.35 inches of precipitation and 4.5 inches of snow through the month of December. 

In Colorado Springs,  the average high temperature of 44 degrees on December 1st cools to 41 degrees by December 15th, before warming back to 43 degrees by the end of the month. The average low temperature of 20 degrees on December 1st cools to 17 degrees by the end of the month. The average temperature for the month of December in Colorado Springs is 29.8 degrees.  Colorado Springs averages 0.34 inches of precipitation and 5.7 inches of snow through the month of December.  On average, December is the coldest month of the year in Colorado Springs. 

In Pueblo, the average high temperature of 49 degrees on December 1st cools to 45 degrees by December 14th, before warming back to 46 degrees by the end of the month. The average low temperature of 17 degrees on December 1st cools to 13 degrees by December 21st, before warming back to 14 degrees by the end of the month.  The average temperature for the month of December in Pueblo is 30.1 degrees.  Pueblo averages 0.38 inches of precipitation and 5.5 inches of snow through the month of December.   On average, December is the coldest month of the year in Pueblo.
