Heat Continues for the East and South-Central U.S.; Strong to Severe Storms Across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast

The extremely dangerous heat wave continues across the East Coast and much of the South-Central U.S. today. Record high temperatures are expected for some areas especially across the Mid-Atlantic where extreme heat risk conditions reside. There is a Slight Risk (level 2 of 5) of severe thunderstorms today for the northern Mid-Atlantic into portions of southern New England. Read More >

A low pressure system pushing down across the western United States produced a potent winter storm for Colorado. Heavy wet snow fell
across much of south-central CO, along and west of the I-25 corridor. The storm resulted in significant travel impacts across the area,
along with power outages in both El Paso and Fremont Counties. Over parts of the higher elevations, snow totals for this storm
measured in feet, rather than inches. Even at the end of the event, the area continues to be beset by patchy freezing fog, lingering
snow showers, and slick, wet roads.

Below is our Public Information Statement, containing snow total reports from the last 48 hours (as of midday on Friday, 3/15).
