Powerful Pacific System Impacting the West; First Significant Snow for Portions of the East

How did you become interested in your profession?

Was given to me by the Marine Corps, and grew into it.

 

What led you to a career with the NWS (National Weather Service)?

Exit from the Marine Corps into the civilian world.

 

How did you end up in Pendleton?

Close to my family and where I spent my HS time. Plus I like the weather here.

 

What do you enjoy most about working for the NWS?

The challenges of working for a great organization with tons of talented and gifted people.

 

What is your favorite type of weather and why?

Clear blue skies, and visibility for days. It allows you to see how amazing the Inland NW is.

 

What is the most memorable weather event you've ever experienced?

 

Water spout in Okinawa Japan.

 

What are some of your hobbies and interests outside of work?

Boxing, guns, outdoors, art, music, writing, science, speaking, many other things.

 

Where do you see yourself in ten years?

Getting closer to retirement and enjoying the inland NW and Amateur boxing as a coach.
