Tracking Two Storms Impacting the Central and Eastern U.S. Through This Weekend

Two storm systems will track through the central and eastern U.S. through this weekend with areas of gusty winds, rain, and heavy snow. Severe thunderstorms are forecast Friday from the central Gulf Coast into parts of the lower Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio Valleys. The KMPX radar in Chanhassen, MN is operational and fully-functional, but due to a communications issue that is being investigated, some vendors and users are not able to view the data. Our meteorologists have full access to the data and have been using it as normal for the creation of watches and warnings of severe storms. Technicians have been working this issue since Saturday and continue doing so. We apologize for the inconvenience as we continue to troubleshoot the root cause.
