2024 NWS Milwaukee Storm Spotter Training Presentations
The 2024 storm spotter training season will provide both in-person and online training sessions. Training sessions will be about 2 hours long each. The first hour will cover safety aspects for spotters/general public while the second hour will cover the essentials of what you need to know to report severe weather to the NWS. Each session will cover the same information, so you only need to attend one. For those that can not attend any of the live training sessions, we will also record the training and share that in mid May.
For in-person training sessions, click on the details of the event on the Google Calendar listed below for details on the location and whether or not there is pre-registration to attend the session. Some details are still being worked out for the online training sessions.
Click on class to see details (map, registration details).
For the online training sessions, please follow these directions:
YOU MUST REGISTER by clicking on the link to the class you wish to attend listed above and providing your name, email address, city, and state in order to participate.
After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with another link to "Join Webinar." Do not click this link until 10-15 minutes before the date and time of your webinar.
Upon clicking this link, you will be automatically prompted to download an executable GoToWebinar applet. This is NOT a virus or malware, but a legitimate request. You will not be able to join the webinar unless you download the applet.
After downloading the applet, you will be prompted to choose one of two audio options. You can use your computer's audio or use the telephone. If you choose the phone option, the provided number will not be a local number and you may need to enter an audio pin (provided after joining the webinar).
If you are unable to attend any of the scheduled webinars, you can view a 6 part recorded series, which will be similar to what is presented in the webinars.
