Flooding Threat Continues in Portions of Texas; Poor Air Quality in the Great Lakes through the Mid-Atlantic

Widespread life-threatening flash and urban flooding continues in south-central Texas, with considerable flooding impacts possible across central Texas. Wildfire smoke is impacting air quality across much of the Great Lakes region into southern New England and the Mid-Atlantic. The weather observation at Lone Rock, WI is missing due to a communication line outage.  The NWS-owned observation equipment is functioning, but the observation information is unable to be transmitted to external sources, including NOAA Weather Radio and web pages.  A trouble ticket has been opened with the local telecommunications company, and we hope to have this issue resolved soon.  We apologize for any inconvenience.
