National Weather Service United States Department of Commerce

The weather pattern changed early this week.  Southerly winds allowed a warmer and much more humid air mass to overspread the region.  The humid air mass caused any shower or thunderstorm to be efficient rain producers.  There were several rounds of precipitation this week which included heavy rainfall.  As a result, there were widespread rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches with isolated areas where totals exceeded 6 inches.  A cold front moved across the state Thursday and Thursday night which ended the rain threat
