(SNOTEL SITE), MONTANA. PRECIPITATION IN WYOMING LIKE MONTANA RANGED
FROM MUCH ABOVE AVERAGE TO MUCH BELOW AVERAGE. REPORTS RANGED FROM 19
PERCENT OF AVERAGE (0.14 IN.) AT LOVELL, WYOMING TO 253 PERCENT OF
AVERAGE (2.57 IN.) AT DIVIDE PEAK (SNOTEL SITE), WYOMING. PRECIPITATION
IN NORTHEASTERN COLORADO WAS AVERAGE TO BELOW AVERAGE, WITH REPORTS
RANGING FROM 32 PERCENT OF AVERAGE (0.39 IN.) AT FORT MORGAN 2S,
COLORADO TO 189 PERCENT OF AVERAGE (5.30 IN.) AT JOE WRIGHT (SNOTEL
SITE), COLORADO.

OF THE FOUR MAJOR IRRIGATION RESERVOIRS IN MONTANA, LIMA
RESERVOIR HAD 43 PERCENT AVERAGE STORAGE; CLARK CANYON WAS
HOLDING 89 PERCENT OF AVERAGE WATER, GIBSON RESERVOIR HAD
21 PERCENT OF AVERAGE STORED WATER AND FRESNO RESERVOIR HAD
78 PERCENT OF AVERAGE STORED WATER. OF THE THREE MAJOR
HYDROELECTRIC RESERVOIRS IN MONTANA, CANYON FERRY AND FORT
PECK HAD MONTHEND STORAGE IN THE AVERAGE RANGE; 89 AND 55
PERCENT OF AVERAGE WATER, RESPECTIVELY. BIGHORN RESERVOIR
WAS HOLDING 98 PERCENT OF AVERAGE STORED WATER. IN WYOMING
BOYSEN WAS HOLDING 52 PERCENT OF AVERAGE STORAGE WHILE BUFFALO
BILL RESERVOIR WAS 95 PERCENT OF AVERAGE. THE TOTAL STORED WATER
IN THE NORTH PLATTE BASIN WAS 42 PERCENT OF AVERAGE. IN THE
SOUTH PLATTE BASIN IN COLORADO STORED WATER WAS 99 PERCENT OF
AVERAGE ON OCTOBER 1.
RUNOFF DURING SEPTEMBER, AS INDICATED BY U.S. GEOLOGICAL SURVEY LONG
TERM GAGING STATIONS, WAS BELOW AVERAGE. THE MARIAS RIVER NEAR
SHELBY, MONTANA HAD 28 PERCENT OF AVERAGE RUNOFF. THE YELLOWSTONE
RIVER WAS REPORTED TO HAVE HAD 58 PERCENT OF AVERAGE RUNOFF AT
CORWIN SPRINGS, WHILE AT BILLINGS, MONTANA RUNOFF WAS 49 PERCENT OF
AVERAGE.
