FRIDAY, JANUARY 30, 2026: The Arctic chill will remain in place for the next several days. High pressure should keep us cold with some sunshine today. Increasing clouds across the Virginia Piedmont and southern Maryland later today into tonight with some light snow moving into parts of the area. Light accumulating snow may linger through the day Saturday in central Virginia (near I-95) and southern Maryland. As a coastal low intensifies and slowly pulls away from the coastline, north to northwest winds will increase and become gusty Saturday night through Sunday night. High pressure will regain control Monday and Tuesday, before the next chance of snow moves in midweek.
