THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STERLING VIRGINIA HAS DISPATCHED A STORM SURVEY TEAM TO THE STAFFORD AND SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY AREA TO STUDY STORM DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED LAST NIGHT. THE SURVEY TEAM HAS DETERMINED THAT A LOW END EF2 TORNADO STRUCK THE ENGLAND RUN NORTH SUBDIVISION AT ABOUT 1055 PM LAST NIGHT. ENGLAND RUN MARKS THE END OF THE TORNADO TRACK...WHICH WAS ABOUT 4 MILES LONG AND 150 YARDS WIDE. ESTIMATED MAXIMUM WINDS ARE 120 MPH. THERE WERE NO FATALITIES REPORTED. IN ADDITION...THE SURVEY TEAM HAS DETERMINED THAT DAMAGE THAT OCCURRED IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY WAS DUE TO STRAIGHT LINE WINDS. STRUCTURES AFFECTED INCLUDE A TOBACCO BARN...WHICH WAS DEMOLISHED...AND 3 WAREHOUSES WHICH SUSTAINED DAMAGE.
