A Pacific storm will bring strong winds, heavy rain, and mountain snow from the Sierras to Rockies on Friday. The storm will then track east through the Midwest producing heavy snow from the Dakotas to the Great Lakes on Saturday. Governor Jim Justice, along with the West Virginia Emergency Management Division and the National Weather Service offices that serve the state, have designated November 14-18 as Winter Weather Awareness Week in West Virginia. This campaign offers a great opportunity to prepare for the winter weather hazards that will occur during the upcoming winter season. Winter weather preparedness involves three steps:
