Hurricane and Storm Surge Watches Issued for the Northern Gulf Coast for Strengthening Tropical Storm Isaias

Tropical Storm Isaias is forecast to track toward the central Gulf Coast while strengthening into a hurricane on Thursday. There is an increasing risk of damaging hurricane-force winds and life-threatening storm surge impacts along portions of the northern Gulf Coast Friday into Saturday. The Pikesville NOAA Weather Radio Transmitter KEC-83, located in
Pikesville, Maryland and broadcasting on a frequency of 162.400
megahertz, has encountered a mechanical error that is causing a
degraded transmission. Technicians have identified the issue, but
will be unable to make full repair until at least Thursday June
27th, 2024. Listeners on this frequency should have alternative
