Heavy coastal rain and high-elevation mountain snow over the Pacific Northwest and northern California will become lighter and more scattered into Thursday. Media is welcome anytime during the event on May 9th from 8am until 5pm. But you must register with us in advance by contacting Chris Strong of NWS Baltimore/Washington at 703-996-2223 or christopher.strong@noaa.gov. We can also schedule set times for you for your interviews with crew and VIPs. Highlights for you: There is limited space for satellite trucks adjacent to the hangar to run live shots from. Please use the above contact ASAP to reserve one of these limited spaces if desired.
* Scheduled Interviews of crew or VIPs can be scheduled in advance. See Available interviews link just to the left on this page. * 8:15 - 8:30 A.M. C-130 and Gulfstream IV scheduled to arrive. (King Air and P-3 arrive Monday). * 10 A.M. Media Briefing (Brief statements by the head of NOAA, FEMA, National Hurricane Center, and NWS Baltimore/Washington). This will be inside the hangar, and the briefing will be conducted from a stage with a large TV screen and the aircraft as background. * 10:30 - 11:30 A.M. VIP and Media tours of aircraft. You will be able to tour the aircraft with the VIPs that are there and interact with the crew of the aircraft. * 11 A.M. - 2:30 P.M. Student tours. During this time 4 groups of 80 local 4th/5th graders will be staged through the event and aircraft. * 2 P.M. - 5 P.M. Open to the public (GATES CLOSE AT 4:30 P.M.).
