The National Weather Service in Louisville, KY, is welcoming a new meteorologist to our office, Adrian Lopez Lago!  Adrian previously worked as a TV meteorologist for 5 years at WSCV Telemundo 51 in Miami, FL.  He is experienced in communicating weather and climate information in English and Spanish to several audiences.  Adrian has a Master’s Degree in Geosciences from Florida International University, and he will complete his Doctoral program in Atmospheric Sciences over the next several months, as we set him up to work in our operational forecasting environment.  During his time down in Miami, he worked often with the weather forecast office down in Miami as well as some work with the National Hurricane Center.  His research experience to date has focused on lightning in tropical cyclones. Adrian comes to the region with tons of energy, and we are excited to see how he uses that energy to help provide forecast information to southern Indiana and central Kentucky.
