Another Round of Heavy Rain and Mountain Snow in California; Snow in the Great Lakes and Northeast

Another round of heavy rainfall will renew concerns for additional flash flooding and landslides in southern California around burn scars and coastal mountain ranges. A low pressure system is bringing enhanced snowfall downwind from the lower Great Lakes into the Northeast mountain ranges. On May 28, 1996 an F4 tornado touched down in Jefferson Memorial Forest southwest of Louisville and tore through northern Bullitt County and western Spencer County.  The Louisville NWS office has created a poster about this event.  Also, we are grateful for the following photos that were shared with us (click on an image to see a larger version):
