Severe Thunderstorm Threat From the Central Plains to the Northeast; Extreme HeatRisk for the East Coast

Strong to severe thunderstorms are possible from the central Plains to the Northeast through this evening. Widespread damaging winds are the primary threat but hail and a tornado or two is also possible. Hot and muggy conditions are expected Thursday. A Heat Advisory has been issued for areas along and west of a Frankfort-Lebanon-Tompkinsville line where afternoon heat index readings may peak around 105 degrees. Take it easy if you need to work outside, or do not have access to air conditioning!
