Additional Heavy Rain and Flooding Concerns in Central Texas; Tropical Storm Chantal to Impact the Coastal Carolinas

Heavy rainfall and flooding concerns remain for today across Central Texas and the Hill Country, with scattered thunderstorms expected this afternoon and evening. Tropical Storm Chantal has formed and will bring heavy rainfall and flooding concerns to portions of the coastal Carolinas. On April 16, Bellarmine University in Louisville became the sixth university in Kentucky to be recognized as a StormReady University. Bellarmine is the Commonwealth's first private StormReady university. The Office of Public Safety has aligned the University's severe weather response with national best practices, and developed a comprehensive Emergency Operations Plan that could be a model for campus preparedness everywhere.
