NWS Louisville delivered two Turn Around Don't Drown (TADD) road signs to Spencer County, KY officials today (8/29/23).   These signs will be posted at the low water crossing along Old Heady Road where Plum Creek frequently overflows during heavy rains causing the bridge to become impassable with flood waters.   In 2019, a family was swept away by floodwaters while trying to cross the flooded bridge at this location.  Most of the family was rescued, however the father did not survive.  Hopefully with added TADD signs along this frequently flooded crossing, people driving through the area will play it safe when they see flood waters and remember to "Turn Around Don't Drown!"
