Dangerous Heat over the South-Central and Southwest U.S. Through Next Week

Dangerous heat persists across the Desert Southwest through this weekend and across the Southern Plains and Lower Mississippi Valley through at least the middle of next week. Numerous daily record high temperatures are expected through at least Tuesday for much of Texas and Oklahoma as well as portions of Louisiana, New Mexico, and Arizona. Read More >

Showers and storms end this morning. Then more showers and thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and/or tonight. Some of the storms late today and tonight may be severe with damaging winds, large hail, and isolated tornadoes. In addition, a flash flood watch is in effect for south-central Indiana and much of central Kentucky (except parts of south-central KY). Periods of very heavy rain could cause local flash flooding late today or tonight. Keep aware of the weather situation today and tonight, and have an action plan in case severe weather or flash flooding threatens your area!
