MONROE LOWER KEYS - MOST LOCALIZED WIND DAMAGE WAS LIMITED TO THE
IMPACTS FROM A SINGLE OUTER SQUALL CONTAINING WIND GUSTS OF 40 TO 60
KNOTS PASSING THROUGH THE LOWER FLORIDA KEYS SHORTLY AFTER 1900 UTC
24 AUG 2020. JUST OVER 1350 CUSTOMERS LOST POWER IN KEY WEST AFTER
TWO DISTRIBUTION FEEDER CIRCUITS OPENED FROM TREE LIMBS CONTACTING
POWER LINES. ADDITIONAL SMALL POWER OUTAGES OCCURRED ELSEWHERE IN
THE LOWER KEYS. ONE LARGE UMBRELLA TREE WAS DOWNED AT THE WFO KEY
WEST WITH SEVERAL TREE LIMBS, SOME LARGE, DOWNED IN THE CITY. WAVE
OVERWASH OCCURRED NEAR THE HIGH TIDES THE AFTERNOON OF 24 AUG AND
EARLY MORNING HOURS 25 AUG 2020. MINOR BEACH EROSION OCCURRED.
MONROE LOWER KEYS - MINOR BEACH EROSION IN MARATHON WITH A COUPLE
TREES DOWNED.
MONROE UPPER KEYS - A MINOR POWER OUTAGE AFFECTING JUST OVER 75
CUSTOMERS OCCURRED ON PLANTATION KEY THE MORNING OF 24 AUG 2020,
OTHERWISE NO SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE REPORTED.
