FLOODING FROM HEAVY RAINFALL DURING THE LATE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

RAPIDES...CALCASIEU RIVER NEAR GLENMORA REACHED MINOR FLOOD STAGE
CAUSING SOME ROADS TO BECOME IMPASSABLE.

NEWTON...SABINE RIVER NEAR DEWEYVILLE REACHED INTO THE MINOR
FLOODING CATEGORY WITH ONLY PROPERTY CLOSEST TO THE RIVER AFFECTED.

CALCASIEU...THE CALCASIEU RIVER NORTH OF THE SALTWATER BARRIER
UPSTREAM TO WHITE OAK PARK SEEN MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING AS A
RESULT OF THE COMBINATION OF RAINFALL AND STORM SURGE. THIS CAUSED
SEVERAL ROADS NEAR THE RIVER TO BE COVERED WITH SEVERAL FEET OF
WATER.

BEACH...AROUND 1 FT ON HWY 27 NEAR KELSO BAYOU BRIDGE NEAR
HACKBERRY...2 FT OF WATER COVERED HWY 82 BETWEEN OAK GROVE AND THE
MERMENTAU RIVER...AND A SMALL SECTION OF HWY 82 NEAR GRAND CHENIER.

FELL DURING THE LATER AFTERNOON/EARLY EVENING OF WEDNESDAY JUNE
21ST...CAUSING MANY ROADS TO FLOOD WITH 1 TO 2 FT OF WATER COVERING
THEM AROUND LAKE CHARLES. THE STRONG SOUTH WINDS AND STORM SURGE
CAUSED WATER TO BACK UP THE CALCASIEU RIVER AND FLOOD LOW-LYING
AREAS IN SULPHUR... WESTLAKE...AND LAKE CHARLES. WATER CAME TO THE
EDGE OF I-10 BETWEEN SULPHUR AND LAKE CHARLES...IT WAS 1 TO 3 FT
DEEP ALONG THE BEACH AND YACHT CLUB AREA OF DOWNTOWN LAKE CHARLES...
AND AT LEAST 1 FT DEEP ALONG CONTRABAND BAYOU.
