Overview
On Monday, June 12th several severe thunderstorms moved through northwestern Nebraska. One of them dropped a tornado north of Antoich that caused some damage. At least two homesteads sustained some damage with cottonwood trees snapped and twisted, an old barn was destroyed, and a wind break was damaged. There was also damage done to 30 wooden power poles that had to be replaced. The path is discontinuous.

Rating: EF-1 Estimated peak wind: 100 mph Path length /Statute/: 9.6 miles Path width /Maximum/: 10 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start date: June 12, 2017 Start time: 8:30 pm MDT Start location: 3 miles WNW of Antioch, NE End date: June 12, 2017 End time: 8:45 pm MDT End location: 9.5 miles N of Antioch, NE SUMMARY: Witnesses describe a tornado touching down and destroying mainly cottonwood trees and wind breaks. There was one large healthy cottonwood tree that was snapped and twisted with branches strewn across the property. There was also damage to an old barn and a large outbuilding with hangar doors. There was a partial collapse of the barn and the hangar doors were blown off of the large metal outbuilding. The tornado also picked up a pile of lumber and scattered it across the property. The local power company reports that 30 power poles were also replaced due to damage, some poles were snapped and others were pushed over.
