***Winter Storm to Impact the Area Today***

Temperatures have cool enough for mostly all snow, which will continue into the evening hours. A band of moderate to locally heavy snow can be expected to continue into the evening hours. In addition to the snowfall will be very strong northerly winds, gusting to around 50 mph at times. The warm ground will allow for light snow to melt, however as the intensity of the snow increases, wet snow is anticipated to accumulate. Highest snowfall totals could approach 8 inches, however due to melting snow, actually snow accumulations will be less, especially on roadways. As the snow ends from west to east tonight, clearing skies will allow for temperatures to fall into the teens and 20s. This will cause any slush/water to freeze, and could cause hazardous driving conditions.
